IDP awarded with a 54 schools project for the Pará state (Brazil)

The engineering group IDP has been chosen to draft the executive projects for the construction and renewal of 54 schools in the State of Pará, located in the north of Brazil. The projects are framed in the improvement and expansion plan of the basic studies in the State of Pará, an initiative started by the Secretary for Education of the Pará Government and is financed by the IADB (Inter American Development bank).

The contract will have a price of 1.9 milion US$ and the schools will have a surface between 1.200m2 and 7.800m2 wach, and will be located in 32 cities of the state, with a special mention to the ones in Belém (1.428.368 inhabitants), Ananindeuda (498.095 inhabitants), Marabá (200.801 inhabitants), Bragança (103.751 inhabitants) & Marituba (101.356 inhabitants).

This project is totally developed thru BIM “Building Information Modeling” technology, this technology allows to design, project, organize and direct the digital construction of the Project and its subsequent works. It integrates all the information in a parameterized, complete, unique and centralized model that shares all the participating agents that will take part during all the buildings life cycle. This digital model allows the integration of up to 7 dimensions – the 3 physic ones, cost (4th D), time (5th D), energetic and sustainability analysis (6th D) and the Facility Management systems integration (7th D) – speeding up the decision time and erasing mistakes thanks to a global knowledge of the project thru the model.

IDP is present since 2011 in Brazil with offices in Florianopolis & Rio de Janeiro, the company has also offices in Lima (Peru), Quito (Ecuador) & Santiago (Chile), positioning itself as a strategic partner un Latin America for all the companies with investment projects in that area and consolidating itself as a referent company for the development of projects using BIM technology.
