IDP awards national environmental laboratory for OEFA in Peru
The Environmental Assessment and Control Agency (OEFA) has awarded the IDP Group the project for the new National Laboratory for Environmental Analysis and technical specifications of laboratory equipment, located in the Carmen de la Legua district, in the Constitutional Province of Callao, in southern Peru.
The project has an investment of 20 million soles and is part of the Public Investment Program “Improvement and Expansion of Environmental Quality Services at the National Level”, by the Ministry of Environment of Peru and OEFA. This program is financed by the World Bank.
OEFA is a specialized public technical agency attached to Peru’s Ministry of the Environment in charge of promoting compliance with environmental regulations and the improvement of the National Environmental Management System throughout Peru.
The objective of the program is to generate and share information for environmental quality control at the national level, which will allow the Government of Peru to improve environmental control and monitoring and its analytical capacity, increase public access to information and promote informed public participation in environmental quality management. It will also contribute to reducing levels of environmental pollution, reducing diseases linked to the deterioration of environmental quality, reducing social conflict and improving the investment climate.
The new laboratory will be built on a 7,236.44m2 site and will have two sections: The Sample Analysis Section to meet the internal demand of OEFA and Environmental Auditing Entities (EFAs) that require the service of analysis of environmental samples; and the Validation and Dirimence Section.
All services will be carried out using the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology, which allows for the design, design, organization and management of infrastructure information in a parameterized, complete, unique and centralized model throughout its life cycle, from conceptualization to on-site execution, using dynamic 3D modeling software in real time.
