IDP carries out the new biomass facilities project of the Berguedà (Barcelona)
IDP carries out the executive projects and work direction drafts of the biomass thermic energy generating facilities at the Berguedà region (Barcelona).

The project consists on the operative substitution of the current heating and ACS (warm sanitation waters) generation systems for different municipal equipment’s that are currently operated with fossil fuels (non renewable), by new forestry biomass boilers (splinters) being feed by forestry waste for the surrounding forests (renewable resources non proceeding from fossil fuels), to proportionate energy for the 31 public equipment’s in six municipalities of the Berguedà (Bagà, Berga, Cercs, Gósol, La Pobla de Lillet and Saldes). A total of 13 forestry biomass boilers will be installed, together with its correspondent warm water distribution network to this 31 municipal equipment’s.

This project will positively contribute to the complete forestry management cycle, then all the raw materials to be used will come from the region’s forests, with its correspondent workplaces creation. Once the wood has been splintered and dried, I t will be distributed on demand to the different facilities. The forestry biomass boilers installed at each equipment together with it’s distribution networks will guarantee the right closure of the forestry management cycle.
