The IDP Group will develop the Urban Mobility Plan of the Foz do Rio Itajaí Metropolitan Area in Brazil for the Foz do Rio Itajaí, the contact was signed with the AMFRI (Foz do Rio Itajaí Municipalities Association) in an event with the Santa Catarina State Industries Federation (FIESC).

The Foz do Rio Itajaí Metropolitan Area is formed by 9 municipalities of the Santa Catarina State, with an approximately extension of 1.000 km2 and with more than 500.000 inhabitants, being the urban mobility one of the priority subjects of the local authorities because of its large impact on the inhabitant’s life quality, and this project has a big importance for the economic and social development at one of the main development areas of the Santa Catarina State.

The Urban Mobility plan development will require a participative process where the community, institutions, and experts of the region will take part, by detailing n a study the problems, the needs and the currents challenges of the region, in order to integrate the solutions that will allow to reach the desired efficiency all this with an international view of the adopted solutions in different cities worldwide and also by using BIM technology.

The measures to be adopted are:

• Development of the Integrated Urban Mobility Plan
• Elaboration of the inter-municipal transport plan
• Technic and economic study
