The IDP Engineering Group has been awarded the Bonaplata prize for the Valuation of Technical and Scientific Industrial Heritage 2023, in the category of new industrial construction, for the drafting and construction management of the project for the industrial wood panel manufacturing plant of the Austrian multinational Kronospan in Tortosa (Tarragona).

Kronospan’s industrial wood panel manufacturing plant in Tortosa is the largest industrial project to be developed in Catalonia by 2022, with an investment of over 350 million euros and more than 100,000 m2 of floor space and has received the institutional support of the Generalitat de Catalunya as a strategic project.

The event was held at the headquarters of the College of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia and was introduced by Mr. Joan Munt, vice-president of AMCTAIC; Mr. Jaume Perarnau, director of MNACTEC; Mr. Pere Homs, director general of EIC; Mr. Iñaki Irisarri, coordinator of the Caixa d’Enginyers Foundation; and Ms. Sonia Hernández, director general of cultural heritage of the Generalitat de Catalunya, who presented the award to the CEO of the IDP Group, Mr. Enric Blasco.
