IDP leads the Acropolis innovation project to assess the risk in the ponds
The IDP Group participates in the Acropolis innovation project “Classification of ponds against potential risk combining GIS and Machine Learning”, financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), is framed with the call “Challenges-Collaboration 2019” of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of the Government of Spain. Its main objective is to build an aid system for the classification of rafts according to their potential risk.
Acropolis will develop a system that will optimize various processes using Machine Learning (ML), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and infrastructure asset management through the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology.
The project will obtain three results, an application in which it will be possible to know what type of raft it is based on its potential risk allowing the preclassification of the raft, an automated tool for the preparation of raft classification reports through an optimal process and, finally, a BIM model in which all the information of the raft will be integrated, allowing to increase the performance of the GIS model.
IDP participates as coordinator of the project and will lead the development of the tool of a GIS-BIM platform for the integration of the models of ruptures and information related to the safety of the rafts.
The project will be executed over a period of 29 months and will have a consortium formed by CIMNE and IDP Ingeniería y Arquitectura Iberia, S.L.U. (Spain).
