IDP obtains the Exceptional BREEAM certificate for the Delin Logistic Park South Madrid- Phase II In Illescas (Toledo)

The IDP Group has completed the sustainability consultancy of the new logistics park Delin Logistics Park South Madrid Phase II, obtaining the certificate with the BREEAM ES New Construction 2015 seal, with the classification Exceptional.

IDP has finished its participation in the project, where it has developed the integral project (architectural, structures, installations, and logistic process), the construction management and the start-up of the logistic platform of Itercon for Delin Property, which is located in the industrial area of El Rabanal in Illescas (Toledo). The new platform has been designed following the latest technological advances in the sector, including the most innovative and sustainable materials on the market and taking into account factors such as energy saving, environmental impact and adaptability to people.

As a result of the consultancy work carried out by IDP, Delin Logistics Park South Madrid Phase II has obtained the BREEAM EXCEPTIONAL certificate. It is a milestone to achieve this certificate, being the first time that BREEAM Exceptional is achieved for a building of industrial typology in Spain.

BREEAM Exceptional is a rating that is only awarded to projects that demonstrate the highest sustainability ratios, far exceeding regulatory requirements. In order to achieve a score of 91.55%, we have implemented some of the following improvement measures:

  • The energy efficiency of the building has been optimised through an exhaustive analysis of the building envelope, equipment and viable low-carbon technologies to be incorporated, achieving savings of 100% in CO2 emissions, 100% in primary energy consumption and 67% in water consumption compared to a conventional building of similar characteristics.
  • A Prevention and Control Plan for Indoor Air Quality (PPCAI) has been drawn up.
  • The consumption control has been incorporated by means of a building management system (BMS or Building Management Software).
  • Thermal modelling has been carried out using the PMV and PPD indices in accordance with UNE- EN ISO 7730:2006 to assess thermal comfort levels in occupied spaces.
  • More than 80% of construction and demolition waste generated is recycled or recovered, materials responsibly sourced are prioritised and more than 50% of site aggregates are recycled and processed within a 30km radius of the site.

IDP is recognized by BREEAM to carry out sustainability assessments and assessments of buildings. The assessments are verified by the certifying body BREEAM, and our assessors have passed a specific training process in accordance with the EN-17024 standard.
