The councillor of Enterprise and Employment of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Mr. Roger Torrent, visits the offices of the IDP Group

The councillor of Enterprise and Employment of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Mr. Roger Torrent, accompanied by the Director of the Investment and Foreign Companies Unit of Acció, Ms. Trini Bofarull, visited this morning the headquarters of the IDP Group in Sabadell (Barcelona).

During the visit, the Councillor was able to observe the level of development of the IDP Group’s BIM methodology, of which the company has been a benchmark in Europe for 12 years, and which the Generalitat de Catalunya established as mandatory in public tenders from 2019. For the explanation, the IDP team has been supported by the presentation of complex industrial projects currently under development such as the assembly plant of electric batteries of SEAT in Martorell, with an estimated investment of 300M€; the industrial plant for the manufacture of elecfoil for electric batteries of the Korean multinational LOTTE in Mont-roig del Camp, with an estimated investment of 400M€ or the Agro-food Park of AMETLLLER Origen in Gelida, with an estimated investment of 180M€.

The councillor was also able to see the developments in the field of Digital Twins applied to assets in operation to improve productivity, which is one of the strategic lines of innovation of the IDP Group, currently holding the executive presidency of the BDTA (Building Digital Twin Association).

For Enric Blasco “the visit of the councillor is a stimulus for the engineering companies that have been promoting digitalisation for more than 10 years. At IDP we were deans in the implementation of BIM as a work tool 12 years ago, and that decision, very brave at the time and little understood, has allowed us to be where we are today, the leading engineering group in BIM in Spain made up of more than 500 professionals, and with the vocation for innovation that is part of our DNA we continue to develop products and services to improve the productivity of the Spanish economy with a focus on the Digital Twins”.
