The first vice-president and Minister for Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Mrs Nadia Calviño, visits the offices of IDP Group

The First Vice-President and Minister for Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Ms Nadia Calviño, accompanied by the alcalderwoman of Sabadell and Vice-President of the Barcelona Provincial Council, Ms Marta Farrés and the Government Delegate in Catalonia, Mr Carlos Prieto, visited this afternoon the IDP Group headquarters in Sabadell (Barcelona).

During the visit, the Vice-President was able to observe the level of development of the IDP Group’s BIM methodology, of which the company has been a benchmark in Europe for 12 years, and of which the Council of Ministers of the Spanish Government on 27 June last promoted it with the approval of the BIM Plan for its gradual implementation in the projects of the General State Administration from 2024 onwards. For the explanation, the IDP team relied on the presentation of complex industrial projects currently under development such as the SEAT electric battery assembly plant in Martorell with an estimated investment of 300M€, the industrial plant for the manufacture of elecfoil for electric batteries of the Korean multinational LOTTE in Mont-roig del Camp with an estimated investment of 400M€, or the AMETLLLER Origen Agri-Food Park in Gelida with an estimated investment of 180M€.

The Vice President was also able to see the developments in the field of Digital Twins applied to assets in operation to improve productivity, which is one of the strategic lines of innovation of the IDP Group, currently holding the executive presidency of the BDTA (Building Digital Twin Association).

For Enric Blasco “the visit of the vice-president Nadia Calviño is a stimulus for the engineering companies that have been promoting digitalization for more than 10 years. At IDP we were deans in the implementation of BIM as a work tool 12 years ago, and that decision, very brave at the time and little understood, has allowed us to be where we are today, the leading engineering group in BIM in Spain made up of more than 500 professionals, and with the vocation for innovation that is part of our DNA we continue to develop products and services to improve the productivity of the Spanish economy with a focus on the Digital Twins”.
