IDP, A Bureau Veritas Company, participated in the 6th Building Digital Twin International Congress 2026 (BDTIC), organized by the Building Digital Twin Association (BDTA) in collaboration with the European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP), held at the Thon Hotel Bristol Stéphanie in Brussels (Belgium).

During the event, Eduard Loscos, R&D Manager at IDP and President of the Building Digital Twin Association (BDTA), was tasked with officially opening the BDTIC 2026, kicking off the main day of the congress.

In his opening remarks, he addressed the current state of digitalization in the construction and infrastructure sector, as well as the main challenges and opportunities associated with the adoption of Digital Twins, data interoperability, and the evolution of future European regulatory frameworks.

Meanwhile, Tamara Fanjul, R&D Projects and Proposals Manager at IDP, led one of the specialized workshops in the conference program, titled “EIC Portfolio: How to generate a SIMBOT?”, as part of the European project DYMAN.

The workshop focused on the use of SIMBOTs (Simulation Bots) as advanced simulation tools and decision-making aids in complex environments, with direct applications in Digital Twins, energy efficiency, and smart systems.

The conference program also included various specialized sessions and workshops addressing key issues such as Digital Building Permits, Digital Product Passports, standardization, ethics applied to Digital Twins, automation, and data integration at different scales (building, infrastructure, and city), consolidating the BDTIC as a leading forum for addressing the main challenges and advancements in the sector’s digitalization.
