Indutec participates in the DEMOLTECH innovation project for the generation of circular raw materials in urban environment

Indutec, a company of the IDP Group, participates in the National R+D+i project DEMOLTECH, Intelligent demolition and revaluation processes for the generation of circular raw materials in urban environments, financed by the State Research Agency, the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and ERDF funds.
The general objective of DEMOLTECH is to research for the development of a comprehensive prototype for smart demolition, through the research of revaluation processes to generate circular raw materials in urban environments in the different phases of the cycle of a deconstruction project. To meet this general objective, the 7 specific technical objectives are proposed:
- Design and development of a Digital Twin to predict the volume of waste generated.
- Develop a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) functionality tool for demolition materials to evaluate sustainable alternatives and make informed decisions about using new or revalued materials in each particular case.
- Development of a blockchain system for the certification of recycled materials and their recovery processes, promoting their digitization for the incorporation of the information in the Digital Materials Passport.
- Research and development of an intelligent tool for identifying materials in situ based on artificial vision, for the monitoring of demolition tasks and their incorporation into the Digital Twin.
- Development of an advanced tool for the separation of toxic and inert waste and separation of waste on site based on IoT and artificial vision solutions, for the automation and digitization of material records in accordance with current Waste Management regulations.
- Development of on-site CDW applications of materials and compounds for their revalorization.
- Integration of the previous technological prototypes into an integral prototype demonstrator (TRL6) and on-site testing of the prototype demonstrator in quasi-real conditions to validate the experimental development advocated at DEMOLTECH. This will be done in a controlled environment of the work. On the part of FCC Construcción, it will make one of the pilots available to the project, which is the work of the Hospital de Soria.
DEMOLTECH is made up of a multidisciplinary consortium made up of the companies FCC Construcción, BECSA, INDUTEC and the technology centres CETIM and ITAINNOVA.
The project is funded within the framework of the 2023 call for public grants for public-private collaboration projects, the State Programme to Promote Scientific-Technical Research and its Transfer, the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2021-2023. Project CPP2023-010533 funded by MCIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/ERDF, EU.
