HERITALISE project

HERITALISE (Heritage Buildings and Objects Digitisation & Visualisation within the Cloud) to develop advanced digitalization solutions in cultural buildings

OBJECTIVES

HERITALISE, funded by UK Research Innovation – Innovate UK and the European Commission, framed in the call: HORIZON-CL2-2023-HERITAGE-ECCCH-01-02, aims to create cutting-edge digitization techniques that capture visible and hidden features of cultural heritage (CH) assets, by using machine learning for optimized data processing. It will transform raw data into valuable insights, connecting everything into a knowledge graph for easy exploration.

Its ecosystem will be integrated with the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), providing a scalable web-based platform for European cultural heritage institutions to share, access and develop rich digital resources for preservation and research.

HERITALISE will be demonstrated at 3 sites in Scotland, Italy and Malta, important cultural and historical destinations in Europe, dedicated to the conservation and display of local and regional heritage.

IDP coordinates the project and leads four work packages, contributing its experience in the creation and implementation of a DTE based on Geo-HBIM to integrate different types of cultural heritage (CH) data. All this based on services and standards developed with OpenAPI, in addition to external tools created from cultural heritage (CH) data.

The project will be executed within a period of 48 months and is formed by a consortium of 17 high-level companies and institutions from Spain, Italy, Belgium, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Malta and the United Kingdom.
