The UTE CTR Alt Empordà, concessionary of the construction and exploitation contract of the new Alt Empordà Waste Treatment Center has awarded the IDP Engineering Group with the works technical assistance for the construction definition of the centers executive project. The works are funded by the Catalan Waste Agency together with the Alt Empordà Council with an investment of US$27.005.600.

This new center, with a maximum occupation of 29.000 m2, will treat the organic fraction from the selective collection (FORM) and the rest fraction on a parallel and independent way. It has been designed for a capacity of 60.000 tn/year of Rest Fraction and 10.000 tn/year of FORM, being able to enlarge the quantities to 85.000 Resto & 25.000 FORM. 

The CTRMAE carries out processes of mechanical-biologic treatment to compost and bio stabilize the organic matter, recover the valuable sub products of the urban solid waste and treat the air by high performance technology offering its service to 140.214 habitants.

Prior to this actions, IDP did the entire project with BIM technology, designing the construction details, the mechanic and electrical facilities, and the integration of the required technology for the waste treatment, becoming this to be the first project to be developed with BIM in Spain.
