IDP has been the engineering company chosen by Infraestructures de la Generalitat de Catalunya to carry out the technical assistance for the drafting of the construction project of walkable ditches, adaptation of vehicle containment elements and road surface improvement to the C-242 road in the Cornudella de Montsant section.

The purpose of the project is to develop a new solution to improve the safety of the current C-242 road at Cornudella de Montsant and which focuses on making the existing ditches passable, adapting the vehicle containment elements to the current regulations and improving the road surface.

Specifically, the works to be studied consist of:

• Indicate the places where the gutters have to be converted into walkable gutters by defining the typical section or sections.
• In the treadable ditches, apart from the necessary hydraulic section, the necessary transversal drains and manholes will be studied, as well as the small low points generated when lining the ditches. In addition, at the accesses, fords will be placed, which will be studied in a special way.
• Indicate the places where the guardrail has to be placed or modified for the protection of vehicles and motorists.
• Indicate the places where action must be taken to improve the pavement, defining the type of action.

IDP will project all the necessary infrastructure using the BIM methodology, consolidating its experience in road projects, where it is currently developing a considerable number of national and international projects.
