IDP participates in the conference “BIM and underground services. Modelling the Invisible City”

Eduard Loscos, Innovation Manager of IDP Group, participated in the conference on “BIM and underground services. Modelling the Invisible City” held at the 20th Barcelona Building Construmat congress, a landmark event in the building sector held in Barcelona.

The event, organised by ibSTT Asociación Ibérica de Tecnología Sin Zanja, has also counted with the participation of professionals and expert companies in the sector such as acefat and the City council of Sant Feliu de Llobregat, which have exposed different success cases.

The event has allowed discussing about the main problems in underground services as well as sharing the most innovative solutions. BIM methodology is presented as one of these solutions since it allows integrating all the information in a single parameterised model in 7 dimensions and managing the project in a collaborative way throughout its life cycle (construction and operation), which allows savings of up to 20%.

IDP has presented the success case of the urban services’ management system that is based on a CIM model (City Information Modeling) across the entire city of Sant Cugat del Vallés. This model is adapted to urban services and will unify in a single database both the existing and future information for each of the different areas within the urban services (waste collection and street cleaning, lighting, sewer system, urban spaces, parks and gardens, mobility and telecommunication networks, telephone network, electricity, drinking water and gas).
