IDP participates in the GEOFIT innovation project for the rehabilitation of energy-efficient buildings

IDP participates in the GEOFIT  innovation project “Implementation of new geothermal systems, technologies and tools for the rehabilitation of energy-efficient buildings” funded by the European Union is an industrial collaboration project for the Competitive Low-Carbon Energy Call within the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme (H2020), aimed at the implementation of improved geothermal systems (Enchanced Geothermal Systems)  cost-effective in the rehabilitation of energy-efficient buildings. This involves the technical development of innovative EGS and its components, specially designed to be applied in energy efficiency rehabilitation projects.

GEOFIT develops a suite of tools and technologies, including:  low-encroachment risk assessment technologies, site inspection and jobsite construction supervision (SHM) techniques, cost-effective and optimized EGS control systems in the operation phase, and new specific BIM-enabled tools for the management of rehabilitation works based on the GEOBIM platform.

The project will be executed over a period of 4 years, during which it will integrate these technical developments within a new management framework based on Integrated Design and Distribution Solutions (IDDS), which will materialize in the Geo-BIM Retrofit Management Platform.

The project is made up of a consortium of 24 high-level companies and institutions from Spain, Italy, Austria, France, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands.
