IDP participates in the International BuildingSmart Summit celebrated in Barcelona

The IDP group has participated in the International Summit of buildingSMART, from the 3rd to 6th April, where experts from all over the world have gathered to share knowledge and continue working on the improvement of international BIM processes and standards.

The Summit has counted with the participation of more than 300 attendees and has been divided into different Rooms with different themes and information on BIM’s latest standards, processes, tools and projects and new needs.

The IDP group, represented by architect Adriana Caballero, has participated in this edition presenting a Study Case about the use of BCF (BIM Collaboration Format) as an improvement for the management of incidents during the projects’ design and construction phases. Thanks to the use of this new format, it is possible to channel the incidents through a single platform, which can be accessed directly from the model or via web application.

IDP started its strategy 8 years ago aiming to impulse and implement the BIM environment in all the company’s projects. This allowed IDP to turn into a worldwide referent in BIM technology, adding value to its projects with the goal to offer a better service to its clients. Since then, IDP works using the Open BIM system in the 8 company’s offices located in 5 countries; in detail its headquarters located Sabadell-Barcelona, and delegations in Madrid, Florianopolis, Rio de Janeiro and Belem in Brazil, Lima in Peru, Santiago in Chile, and Quito in Ecuador.

Currently, IDP employs a multidisciplinary team with more than 300 technicians and is developing projects in 34 countries in 4 continents (Africa, America, Asia & Europa) for the public and the private sector.
