IDP participates in the R+D project HARSHWORK of the EU

IDP participates in the European project HARSHWORK promoted by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), which aims to increase the efficiency of the handling of components working in difficult environments through a software model that predicts and quantifies wear .

The project will optimise operating costs by reducing maintenance times, lowering costs and increasing machine performance. The results of the project are of great interest to mining companies and manufacturers of mining equipment, as well as to a wider range of steelmaking, engineering and recycling.

The project has a total budget of 1.56 million euros over a three year period. It is coordinated by the Swedish university Luleå University of Technology (LTU) and has the participation of internationally renowned companies, research centres and universities from Sweden, Finland and Spain. On this occasion, IDP participates leading the task for the development and implementation of the wear model in BIM, within the work package in charge of calibrating the model and predicting wear.

With this award IDP strengthens its R+D line by developing in the last four years research projects funded by the European Union, the IPAN-Innovate Popular Low Density Structural Panel project, the DOF project – District of the Future, in addition to the Hermes project, METGROW + and Intermodel, also funded by the Horizon 2020 programme, which resulted in an investment of more than 23.9 million euros.
