IDP receives the Best Business Practice Award from the Association of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia

IDP, a Bureau Veritas company, has been awarded the Best Business Practice Award by the Col·legi i l’Associació d’Enginyers Industrials de Catalunya as part of the Premis Diada 2026. This award recognises business initiatives that stand out for their contribution to innovation, continuous improvement and excellence in the industrial and business sectors.

This year’s edition, held under the theme “The Engineering of Life”, focused on engineering’s contribution to people’s well-being and the progress of society, highlighting the profession’s impact beyond the strictly technological sphere.

The awards ceremony, held at the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau in Barcelona, brought together representatives from the industrial, academic and institutional sectors. The event was presided over by the President of the Government of Catalonia, Salvador Illa, and was attended by the Dean of the Col·legi d’Enginyers Industrials de Catalunya, Maria Salamero, and the President of the Associació d’Enginyers Industrials de Catalunya, Xavier Rovira.

The award recognises IDP’s involvement in the development of SEAT MEB+ battery assembly plant (Volkswagen Group) in Martorell, a strategic facility for driving forward electric mobility and the transformation of the automotive sector in Spain.

The award highlights IDP’s ability to lead highly complex industrial projects, providing innovative solutions and comprehensive management throughout all stages of development. The new plant reinforces the role of engineering as a driving force behind the transition towards a more efficient, sustainable and technologically advanced industry.

During the award ceremony, Jaime Polo, Director of New Business, accepted the award on behalf of the company and highlighted the collective effort behind this recognition: “This award recognises the hard work, talent and commitment of everyone who forms part of the team. It spurs us on to continue developing projects that help transform the industry through innovation, excellence and sustainability.”

With this recognition, IDP sees the hard work, dedication and talent of a multidisciplinary team rewarded; a team that has made possible the development of one of the most significant industrial projects of recent years, whilst also reinforcing its position as a leader in engineering, architecture and the comprehensive management of highly complex projects.

During the ceremony, other companies, professionals and outstanding initiatives in the fields of engineering and industry were also honoured, in an event that once again highlighted the role of innovation and business excellence as drivers of competitiveness and progress.
