The development work at the port of la Savina in Formentera has been completed
The redevelopment works for the conditioning of roads and pedestrian areas at the access to the Port of La Savina in Formentera (Balearic Islands), promoted by the Autoritat Portuària de Balears (APB), with an investment of nearly 7 million euros, have been completed.

Access to the island of Formentera is exclusively by boat, so the Port of La Savina is a crossing point for many visitors travelling to the island.

The progressive increase of users has generated the need for actions to optimize the flow of passengers and vehicles that access daily, as well as improve roads and pedestrian areas within the service area to provide the port of infrastructure adapted to current needs, more comfortable for its users and that are not only areas of passage, but become living spaces, thus promoting tourism in the port area.

Specifically, the action has included the following areas:

  • Passenger dock area
  • Western area
  • Pedestrian walkway
  • Marina promenade
  • Commercial quay
  • Fisherman’s wharf

The IDP Engineering Group has carried out the drafting of the basic and construction project for the refurbishment of the port using BIM methodology, consolidating its experience in port projects, where it is currently developing a considerable number of national and international projects.
