Award of waste management plan of Belo Horizonte

The Agência de Desenvolvimento da Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte (Agência RMBH) has awarded IDP with the implementation of the Integrated Metropolitan Sanitary, Construction and Bulky Waste Management Plan of the Metropolitan Area of Belo Horizonte in Brazil.

The Metropolitan Area of Belo Horizonte is formed by 34 municipalities, and is the 3rd largest metropolitan area of Brazil with 4,9 inhabitants, the 7th one in Latin America and the 52nd world largest conurbation.

This is an international tender, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) with headquarters in Washington DC, with 34 worldwide companies submitted to it.

With this award, IDP achieves a qualitative leap in the Brazilian market by consolidating its leader’s position in the south of Brazil’s waste management sector where IDP is also developing the Solid Waste Management Master Plan of the Santa Catarina State.
