DHL Express starts construction of its new international hub at Barcelona – el Prat Airport

This Friday saw the groundbreaking ceremony for the new DHL Express international express transport hub at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport, located in Sant Boi de Llobregat (Barcelona), which will require an investment of 80 million euros.

The new hub will have an area of 28,500 m2 of land on which 10,000 m2 of warehouse space will be built. The company will also have an operational mezzanine of 7,500 m2 and 3,500 m2 of office space.

The presentation was attended by Mr. Jesús Sánchez, VP DHL H&G Mediterranean; Mr. Miguel Borrás, General Manager of DHL Express Spain and Portugal; Mr. Félix Bolaños, Minister of the Presidency, Relations with Parliament and Democratic Memory; Mr. Daniel Fernàndez, Deputy Director General of Transport of the Generalitat; Ms. Lluïsa Moret, Mayoress of Sant Boi de Llobregat and President of the Barcelona Provincial Council and Mr. Carlos Prieto, Government Delegate in Cataluña. The event was also attended by other representatives of the administrations and companies that are working together to make this important logistical development possible.
