IDP carries out the expansion of the Sarpi-Veolia special waste plant in Constantí (Tarragona)

Sarpi Constantí has awarded IDP the executive project for the construction of a waste reception pit and the extension of the storage plant of the Special Waste Treatment Centre in Constantí (Tarragona).

Sarpi Constantí, a subsidiary of the Veolia Group, is the European leader in special waste incineration and acts as an authorised manager in Spain for the treatment of hazardous waste. It has a special waste treatment plant in the municipality of Constantí (Tarragona), which is the only incineration plant in Spain with a rotary kiln authorised for the incineration of hazardous waste.

The incineration and energy recovery plant for special waste in Constantí is intended for the high-temperature incineration of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, as well as its energy recovery through the production of electrical and thermal energy in the form of steam. It also has a collection and transfer centre for hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

The services contracted to IDP consist of the drafting of the executive project for the construction of a mass waste reception pit for a capacity of 600 tonnes at an apparent waste density of 500 kg/m3.

The expansion of the plant allows it to increase its capacity and operation, as well as to adapt it to the most innovative environmental technologies in order to improve its systems and processes, providing answers to the current social and health needs, environmental protection and promotion of the circular economy.

The IDP Group has consolidated its position as a leader in waste management and treatment engineering and consultancy firms, developing environmental projects worldwide.
