On 12 February, Adriana Caballero, BIM Manager of the IDP group, participated in the First Conference on BIM Implementation in the Armed Forces, organised by the General Directorate of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Defence. This event aimed to establish a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas and experiences on the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology.

During the day, the work carried out under this methodology in the General Directorate of Infrastructure was analysed and the lines of action planned to implement BIM in the Central Body, Armies and Autonomous Bodies were presented. The conference brought together experts from the sector to discuss the application of BIM in strategic defence projects.

IDP shared its experience in the Army Logistics Base (BLET) project in Cordoba, promoted by the Ministry of Defence. The BLET will be located on an 85-hectare plot in the industrial park of La Rinconada, near Córdoba. With a budget of more than 500 million euros, it will have more than 70 buildings distributed in five major functional areas: storage and distribution, repair and maintenance, calibration and analysis, operation and communications, and services.

The project consists of more than 200 BIM models and has had the intervention of a transversal team of more than 70 professionals, with the main objective of ensuring the quality and integrity of the models throughout the process, through audits, validation of technical requirements, optimization of the life cycle of the models, supervision of coordination and detection of conflicts, in addition to the automation and standardization of processes.

The Army Logistics Base is a key infrastructure for the development of military operations and the supply of units throughout the territory. This project is not only of great strategic importance, but also represents a unique opportunity to promote the economic and technological development of Cordoba.
