IDP will provide technical assistance for the special plans for urban services infrastructures in the 22@ in Barcelona

The Urban Services and Public Space Maintenance Department of Barcelona City Council has awarded IDP technical assistance for the definition, monitoring and control of the Special Urban Services Infrastructure Plans in the 22@ district.
The Special Infrastructure Plan (PEI) consists of the implementation of a network of services and infrastructures in Poblenou, as a response to new residential requirements and a significant presence of knowledge- and business-intensive activities, in such a way that they are innovative and competitive in the national and international market. The management of the PEI ranges from the drafting of projects to the execution of works, being developed in fractional sectors so as not to interrupt other activities and works in progress.
IDP will play a key role in this management and modernisation of urban infrastructures in the 22@, being in charge of the definition and management of infrastructures in urban plans, the supervision and control of works guaranteeing compliance with current licences and regulations, the analysis and optimisation of costs in the provision of urban services, the maintenance and improvement of infrastructures through periodic inspections and contracting of corrective works. technical advice and the updating of regulations to improve urban management, coordination with developers, residents and other actors to promote transparency and good governance of public space, as well as the development and maintenance of information systems for the monitoring and control of projects.
The services will be developed using the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology, which will allow a more efficient and precise management of urban infrastructures. BIM facilitates real-time collaboration between the different agents involved, reduces errors in the design and execution phases, optimizes costs and improves decision-making through simulations and advanced analysis. In addition, it allows detailed planning and monitoring of the life cycle of infrastructures, ensuring their maintenance and long-term operability.
With this award, IDP reaffirms its position as a benchmark in the comprehensive management of urban infrastructures, actively contributing to the sustainable and efficient development of Barcelona’s 22@ district.
