IDP becomes Silver member of the U.S. Green Building
IDP becomes a Silver member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) which develops the LEED® certification system to measure the degree of sustainability of buildings.
USGBC was founded in 1993 with the mission to promote practices focused in the construction industry’s sustainability and since its inception it has become an international standard for environmentally safe buildings.
LEED® (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design)certification provides a framework for the creation of sustainable, healthy and efficient buildings and recognises buildings that are environmentally responsible and designed to make efficient use of natural resources
Buildings considered sustainable are those in which construction systems and natural resources have been optimised so that the impact on the environment and the inhabitants of these buildings is kept to a minimum.
It is estimated that complying with LEED® certification standardsgenerates savings of between 30 and 70% in energy consumption, 30 to 50% in water use and a reduction in waste of up to 90%, with these energy savings being reflected in a drastic reduction in your energy bills during building use.
IDP is firmly committed to the defence of the environment, sustainability and well-being in the built spaces. Being part of the US Green Building Council and the use of sustainability certifications are a seal of guarantee and quality in all our projects.
