IDP carries out the consultancy for the integral management of the urban solid waste in Guairá

IDP is awarded with the consultancy for the implementation of home solid waste management plans for five communities in the Guairá department (Paraguay), under the safe water and plumbing programme for rural and indigenous communities, promoted by the Servicio Nacional de Saneamiento Ambiental SENASA and funded jointly by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Fondo Español de Cooperación para Agua y Saneamiento en América Latina y el Caribe (FECASALC).

The programme is focused on increasing the accessibility to safe water and plumbing services, mainly in the rural and indigenous communities under 2.000 inhabitants of the country, aiming to provide those families without such services with them in a short period of time, thus improving their life quality.

The present consultancy job’s goal consists in the implementation of Solid Waste Integral Management Pilot Plans for five communities in the Guairá department, in the oriental region of the republic of Paraguay: Jorge Naville, Sta. Librada, Cerrito, Bo Virgen de las Mercedes and Santa Catalina.

With this action, IDP increases its experience in projects developed within the solid waste treatment and management scope, and consolidates itself as a consultancy company specialised in environmental issues in Latin America and the Caribbean where nowadays, it is already carrying out similar works in other countries such as Brazil, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Guyana, Nicaragua and Trinidad y Tobago.
