IDP sucessfully finalizes the works management of the Osona and Ripollés Waste Treatment Center

The Honorable Mr. Santi Vila, Territory and Sustainability Counselor of the Government of Catalonia, presided last March 18, 2015 the inauguration o of the Osona and Ripollés Waste Treatment Center where IDP has completely and successfully managed the works execution and the technical assistance for the Urban Solid Waste Consortium of Osona, the construction promoters.

IDP’s services have consisted in the supervision of the project execution, the safety and health coordination, the quality assurance, the time schedule fulfillment and the economic works’ control.

The construction of a facility been designed for the treatment of 43.000 tons/year of rest fraction waste and 10.000 tons/year of organic fraction waste stemming from selective waste collection at the municipalities of Osona and Ripollés is hereby terminated. These works have drawn an investment of US$21.544.300,00 and have been executed in 27 months, starting with the blowing-up of 71.500 m3 of rocky terrain and the course changing of the road that gives access to the Controlled Deposit of Orís. With a surface of 29.973 m2, the Center includes a MBT system in parallel to two organic and rest fractions, the air treatment thru a chemical cleaning and and the high performance bio filters. Providing service to the 180.590 inhabitants of the area.

The loading and performance tests will start now under the supervision and approval of IDP, with the goal to guarantee the correct and safe use of the center according to the contract with CTR Osona UTE (Cespa GR – Certis).
