IDP coordinates the European research & development project INTERMODEL, within the Mobility for Growth call from the Horizon 2020 programme (MG-8.4a-2015), which aims to develop a methodology and set of ICT tools in order to allow an advanced simulation of railway intermodal logistics platform models to support tasks related with design and operational phases.

The project, financed by the EU within the Horizon 2020 programme with an overall budget of 3M€ in a three-year period, is coordinated by IDP and counts with the participation of companies, research centres and international prestigious universities from Spain, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Holland, Italy and Denmark. In this occasion, IDP takes part coordinating the project and leading the work package for the definition and design of terminals in BIM methodology, integrating the simulation of operational processes and its impacts on the surrounding infrastructures.

By winning this project, IDP consolidates its R+D department after developing research projects financed by the European Union in the last four years like the I-PAN project – Innovative Popular Low Density Structural Panel, the DOF project – District of the Future, the HERMES project in addition to the METGROW+ project, both financed under the Horizon 2020 programme too.
