We celebrate the 9th anniversary of the 2030 Agenda and the commitment to the SDGs

Today, September 25, we commemorate the 9th anniversary of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 goals, adopted in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly, have been the overarching framework for addressing the greatest challenges of our time: from poverty and inequalities to tackling climate change and building more just and equitable societies.

The SDGs have a cross-cutting approach, integrating economic, social and environmental solutions that must be achieved by 2030. Since their adoption, countries, organizations and companies are working to incorporate these goals into their policies and operations, aware that only with global collaboration can we ensure a sustainable future for future generations.

The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. Founded in 2000, it brings together companies from around the world who are committed to aligning their strategies and operations with 10 universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment, and the fight against corruption.

At IDP Group, we joined the Global Compact in 2017, aware that our activity can have a direct impact on achieving many of these goals. Through our ESG strategy, we have prioritized actions and projects that contribute to specifically improving the following SDGs:

Throughout these years, we have witnessed the positive impact of integrating the SDGs into our activities and we understand that sustainable development is not only a social responsibility, but also an opportunity to innovate and generate long-term value.

This anniversary is a reminder of the path we have traveled, but also of the challenges we still face to achieve a sustainable future for all. At IDP, we reaffirm our commitment to the 2030 Agenda and to creating innovative solutions that drive sustainable development around the world.
