This March 8, 2025, we join the celebration of UN Women and the United Nations of International Women’s Day, under the slogan: “For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment”.

The IDP Group, as a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact since 2017 and the commitments of the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reaffirms its commitment to gender equality. Since joining the Global Compact, we have worked tirelessly to embed the principles of equality and empowerment into all our operations and strategies. We are committed to promoting responsible business practices that respect and support human, labor and environmental rights, and that foster gender equality at all levels of our organization.

This year, the theme represents a call to action to expand equal rights and opportunities for all and build a future where no one is left behind. Empowering the next generation, especially young women and adolescent girls, is critical to achieving lasting change.

2025 is a pivotal year for gender equality as it marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, adopted by 189 governments in 1995. This document remains the action plan for the rights of women and girls, establishing the basis for policies and programs in key areas such as education, health, peace, political participation, economic empowerment and elimination of violence. Addressing these emerging issues and priorities, such as climate justice and digital technologies, is urgent, as we are only five years away from the deadline to achieve the SDGs.

To mark this day we have participated in a campaign, together with our colleagues  at Bureau Veritas South & West Europe, where we have shared personal perspectives on what gender equality means. This initiative seeks not only to highlight some experiences and perspectives, but also to foster an open and reflective dialogue on the meaning of gender equality, also in the workplace.
